Baby Room Stage 1

First I have to give a HUGE shout out to one of my best friends Brie @ Brielle Bell she has worked so hard these passed 2 weeks and made the JETS cheerleading team for the 2nd year in a row! WOOHOO you go girl!

Onto this weekend...

We finally got our butts in gear and made the spare bedroom look more like a babies room. Currently we are in a 2 bedroom duplex SO the room that had a queen sized bed in and we used as a guest bedroom has now been converted to Baby V's room, MEANING whoever decides to join us for an overnight slumber now has to sleep on a blow up mattress:)

These pics I took are the beginning stages of Baby V's room. Everything is not completely set in stone yet but after moving all the furniture in every different direction you could think of we settled on this placement. I am waiting on the bedding to come which should be here this week to start buying accessories for the walls.

Here is the start of his room. The pics make the accents look black but they are actually expresso brown.

Crib & Rocker
Changing Table

Dresser with the chalkboard obviously not updated. I'm a 22 week slacker

We do still have a TON of stuff to get- wall stuff, a rug, curtains but at least we have the big items together and put up. I did have a lot of help from my mom and Roberto (with some whining) to get all this together, Roberto decided it was a good idea to go to the casino until 5:30 in the morning so he was not a happy camper when I opened the shades at 8am! Boys will be boys.

I am so happy how everything came together and super excited for the bedding to come!!!

Maternity Leave Dream

DREAM

I know I still have 4 months until Maternity leave but for some reason I cant stop thinking about what this whole 3 months off from work will be like. Some know me, and some have no fricken clue who I am well... I love vacations, I love weekends, I love not being at work:) I DIE for the Real Housewives show on Bravo I just want their lives, I dont think its to much to ask. I guess I should have re-thought my guy choice 3 years ago, oops! So when I was told I was getting 12 weeks leave I was as giddy as a little schoolgirl. I will have all day to myself with my little newborn, he will obviously be sleeping through the night, we will go for walks, I will lose all my baby weight in a few weeks... life will be so grand.

REALITY

NONE of this will happen. According to half my friends my child will have ADHD because I'm still drinking one 8oz cup of coffee, gotta love the advice you get from friends that have never had children:) But the reality is Maternity leave is not going to be a 3 month long vacation, I cant wait to report back to this post in October and realize how seriously wrong I was. Should be a fun day. I prayyyy that he will be sleeping through the night by the time I have to go back to work, any Mommys out there that have tips for babies sleeping through the night would be greatly appreciated.

Crib bedding searching is Exhausting

Delta Springtime Crib

Here is the pic of our crib that was at babies r us, we decided on the white and expresso because I got a changing table that matches PERFECTLY so to have a matching set is going to look great. After HOURS and multiple searches online we have decided on the baby bedding. I knew I did not want anything from babies r us, the patterns there are very big and way to overwhelming for the nursery we have. Also I knew I did not want a "theme" for the room. I want to be able to put together a bunch of different things using the obvious blue and green colors. I highly suggest looking for a 10 or 9 piece crib bedding set, I found this one of Amazon for $100! It includes everything in the picture *besides the crib and dresses obv* which is a great day considering I did check out Pottery Barn and bedding sets start at $200 which don't even include the bumper or comforter.

UGH I said I wouldn't touch the carseat or stroller until Julyish because I didnt want it to get "dusty" so I was going to just leave them in the box. However the box was just staring at me wanting me to open it so I said OKOK I'll just play with the carseat- baby stuff is SO much fun!!!! I really wanted to put him in the seat all strapped in but he was def not having that so we got a nice pic of him sitting pretty:)

Breakdowns

Happy Tuesday! I had a long weekend... Friday was our big ultrasound appointment where they go in and look at every organ in the body to make sure everything is working correctly. The doctor said she can not find anything wrong with this kid, which was re-assuring to say the least. The pic above was taken last night, after about 10 retakes by Roberto I finally had a melt down. For starters all my best friends are BEAutiful, skinny, so excited for summer to buy new bikinis and work on their tan.. then there is me, 20 weeks pregnant and feeling like a serious large whale. Everyone says to "EMBRACE IT" its the best 9 months of your life... I will never say that to a pregnant woman, because it's not. Also not to mention it was 90 degrees out all weekend in the middle of April for Mass this is ridiculously hot and Im fat now so I was sweating a ton and all I wanted was a sam summer UGH

How far along? 20 Weeks 1 day
Total weight gain/loss: 9 lbs gained
Maternity clothes? 1 pair of Maternity work pants, other then that I live in leggings
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Still sleeping great. Getting up to pee once a night still.
Best moment this week: Seeing baby boy at my 20 week ultrasound & hearing that all is healthy and good!
Miss Anything? beer, wine, margaritas, beergaritas, jager bombs, jell-o shots, being able to paint my toes like a normal human
Movement: Nothing!!! I am ready to feel something!
Food cravings: Still sparkling water, CranApple Juice, and basically anything that pops up on a commercial I will most likely go out and buy it
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nada
Have you started to show yet: Yep!
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? I would say out, even though it grosses me out completely.
Wedding rings on or off? There's no ring, I'll just keep whining until I get one:)
Happy or Moody most of the time: Depends on the day. I would like to say I'm getting better
Looking forward to: Getting the ready for the shower, and putting the nursery together.

Life Now vs Then

Last night was my first night of prenatal yoga- first of all I have not stepped foot in a gym since I found out I was pregnant (few walks here and there) Second of all working out for the first time really brought back the time when I used to work out then GO OUT. So when I got home I really starting thinking of how much I missed my wine and beer. I found this picture and it made me die laughing!!! For any of you who are pregnant, have been pregnant, or are thinking of becoming pregnant here is the reality. The "Peeing your pants" really hit home for me because, since this is a blog about documenting my pregnancy here it is, YES I wet my pants a wee little bit EVERY time I sneeze. Mind you this (among other glorious things) has never happened to me before. After about a week of it happening I decided to take to my friend Google, which comforted me by saying it is a pregnancy symptom and it will disappear after the baby is born. Next time you sneeze all you non pregnant people please never take for granted those nice warm DRY underwear of yours ;-) Oh yeah and Happy Thirsty Thursday- think of me enjoying an O'douls or a sparkling water with lemon

Case of the Mondays!

Hope everyone had a good Easter weekend:) We decided on a carriage and car seat which was purchase by Roberto's parents. Here is the handsome hunk trying to figure out how to take the car seat off of the stroller and it was definitely a funny site to watch this all go down. I offered to help multiple times but of course he wanted to "do it himself" so I just stood there for 20 minutes watching until finally he gave up and said "OK fine do it"
And here we are all happy go lucky again pushing the stroller around.

Also I have been craving spicy things. ANYTHING spicy I want it. So I came across chilli power in my spice rack and I have been putting it on everything, cucumbers, celery, crackers. SO I had my normal craving for popcorn the other night and obv I had my chilli power handy so I dabbled away sprinkling getting super excited

                                                                        Insert Photo...

Look at the yummy popcorn FILLED with spicy goodness. I brought the bowl into the living room and set it down, Roberto of course grabs a HUGE handful and puts it in his mouth chomping away. After it was all chewed up he looks at me and said "What the hell is wrong with that, why is it so HOT" me: "umm because I put chilli power on it" Rob "WHY are you doing that your ruining all of the food" I told him that I NEED it on the popcorn and for him to keep his hands off my things:) settled!
